An exhilarating sport, lacrosse is fast-paced and full of action. Long sprints up and down the field with abrupt starts and stops, precision passes and dodges are routine in men’s and women’s lacrosse. Lacrosse is played with a stick, the crosse, which must be mastered by the player to throw, catch and scoop the ball. What else do you need to know?
U-9 – No long poles allowed. Only short sticks 37 to 42 inches.
U-11 – Modified long poles allowed 47 to 52 inches. The stick cannot be longer than the player is tall (with a helmet on).
U-13 & U-15 – May use any legal length long pole.
The Tidewater Chapter is a 501c.3 nonprofit corporation, an “All Volunteer” organization encouraging, fostering, and promoting the growth of lacrosse in the Hampton Roads area. All leadership and staff donate their time to support the integrity and growth of the game. The Tidewater Chapter does not administer our league (HRLax).
All registration fees are used for league, team, and game expenses including game fields, team equipment, referees/officials, youth uniforms, the offsetting league-required coach training, mandatory coach background checks, and registration expenses. All coaches volunteer their time and efforts to increase the local lacrosse knowledge.
HRLax’s league is in compliance with US Lacrosse’s National Youth Rules and Standards and requires coaches to complete Positive Coaching Alliance training, complete the US Lacrosse Level 1 course in age-appropriate lacrosse instruction, and successfully clear a background check from the National Center for Safety Initiatives (NCSI).
We envision a future that offers everyone a lifelong opportunity to enjoy the sport of lacrosse. As Coastal Virginia's lacrosse training and information source, 757 Lacrosse Training provides leadership, structure and resources to fuel the sport's growth and enrich the experience of our participants.
